GMTC Bylaws
The Greater Milwaukee Track Club council has discussed and revised the club bylaws. The decisions that have been made are for the best interest of the club and we have tried to make them as fair as possible.
There are no provisions to join the GMTC such as there are no performance standards, no prior participation in collegiate track is required, and it is not necessary to attend our organized practices (although team practices would be beneficial to you).
For new members:
The track club covers all entrance fees for meets and travel costs. There is a $50 non-refundable fee for the year for you to participate. If you participate in less than the amount of meets that the $50 would cover, we will refund you the difference. All members may pay for their own meet fees rather than paying the $50. The meet fees must be in the director’s hand at least one week in advance to be entered in the meet.
We have organized team practice daily. We also post the weekly workouts in the workout section of the website if you cannot make the scheduled times. In addition you will find weight lifting recommendations in this section.
For meet entry’s an e-mail will be sent out one week prior to the meet. You must respond with your events and seed times by the stated deadline in order to be entered in the meet. If you do not respond, you do not get entered. We do not tolerate no-call/no-shows. If you are entered in the meet and you do not call before departure time and do not show up, you will receive one warning. If it happens a second time we will not enter you in future meets, NO EXCEPTIONS.
There are fundraising opportunities for you to earn your club fees that take place in the off-season (summer). The club fees increase for returners that do not help out with fundraisers.
Returning members:
The GMTC Council has decided that due to lack of participation in fundraisers from returning members that we will not fund returning members participation fees. Returning members may compete under the GMTC name, which will enable them to enter into most meets that they otherwise would not be able to. We feel it is unfair to the members that have participated in fundraisers to cover those that haven't.

Fundraising participation perks:
We have decided on a scale of perks that will be awarded based on each individual's participation in team fundraisers. This year our major fundraiser was the Brewers concession stand. Each day of participation will count as one point. If a family member or friend has participated on your account, it will count as a point for you. The points are non-transferable between members.
Point Scale:
8 points or more (6 points for out of area members) will cover-4 points (2 for out of area members) will cover-
*One seasons meet fee coverage (CC or Indoor T&F or Outdoor T&F)
*Travel expense coverage (van rental and/or gas)
The Greater Milwaukee Track Club’s goal is to be a vehicle for adults who wish to continue participation in cross country and track & field without any monetary profit. The only thing the GMTC asks you to remember is our club functioning is done through your representation, so please do so in a proper manner.
