Greatest moment in sports:

1. Drake Relays Champion 4x800m relay team with UW Stevens Point in 1983 – ran 3rd leg (1:51.1 split – overall time of 7:31.7)-  got the baton in 6th place and side-stepped a 3-man collision in the 4th turn, then went on to pass 2 on the home straightaway and take the lead for the Pointers.

    2. 1981 Indoor National (4x800m relay team with UWSP in Kansas City – ran 1:54 as anchor leg and the meet officials mis-counted laps and made the field run 1 extra lap – but held on to 3rd place (All American).

Honors:

  1. 7th at the WIAA State Track Meet in the mile as a Shorewood H.S. junior (4:23)
  2. 6th at the WIAA State Track Meet in the 800m as a SHS senior (1:57.5).
  3. Ran 4 seasons of Cross Country and track while a student at UW-Stevens Point.  Competed from 1979-1983 for the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.
  4. 3-Time All American while at UW Stevens Point
  5. Currently ranked 2nd on UWSP's all-time indoor 600m list
  6. Currently ranked 4th outdoor on UWSP’s all-time 800m list
  7. Member of the school record holding outdoor 4x400 and 4x800 relays: 3:10.9 and 7:31.7 (1983 while at UW Stevens Point – present school records)
  8. Drake Relays Champion 4x800m (1983)

Hobbies: Cross country and downhill skiing, camping, backpacking, canoeing, traveling

Family:  Wife – Janet; Kids – Angie (2005 graduate of Waterford High School and presently attending UW Madison (Astronomy/Physics Major) and member of the UW Women’s Lightweight Rowing Team); and Dustin (Class of 2009 at Waterford High School)
